Russia reports overnight drone shootdowns across several territories

Russian air defence units on duty reported that they intercepted and destroyed a group of Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles during the night.

The interceptions occurred over several regions as well as over the Black Sea.

The Russian Ministry of Defence stated that from 11:00 p.m. on January 6 to 7:00 a.m. on January 7 (Moscow time), a total of nine Ukrainian UAVs were detected and eliminated by air defence systems.

According to the ministry, five of the drones were destroyed over the Black Sea, two were intercepted over Crimea, and one each was shot down over the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of North Ossetia–Alania.
