Russia's Oryol TPP hit in overnight attack, massive outages reported photo / video
A thermal power plant in the city of Oryol came under attack overnight, according to information released by the ASTRA Telegram channel.
Although regional authorities have not yet issued an official confirmation, Governor Andrey Klychkov stated that “as a result of yet another enemy attack, a municipal infrastructure facility in the city of Oryol has been damaged.”
Residents reported hearing explosions and seeing flashes during the night of January 8. According to local accounts, drones struck infrastructure sites.
The incident also affected Belgorod and nearby districts, where approximately 556,000 people were left without electricity. The regional governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that nearly 2,000 apartment buildings lost heating, and about 200,000 residents were left without access to water.
