Russia says overnight strikes targeted missile, drone production sites in Kyiv, port facilities
Russia's Ministry of Defence said its forces carried out overnight strikes on military-industrial facilities in Kyiv and port infrastructure in Ukraine's Odesa region.
In a statement, the ministry said the attacks targeted the Kyiv State Enterprise Radioizmeritel, which it described as a defence electronics plant producing assemblies and electronic components for the manufacture of Neptune-MD guided missiles, FP-7 and FP-9 drones, and Grom-2 operational-tactical missiles, Caliber.Az reports.
It also said the facility manufactures navigation and landing equipment, as well as microwave components for the aviation industry.
The ministry said another strike hit the industrial enterprise Kyiv-79 (UKR ARMO TECH LLC), which it described as a major Ukrainian production site for assembling warheads for drones and various types of missiles. According to the Russian military, the facility also processes and stores explosives used in ammunition production and serves as a logistics centre for military equipment, including armoured vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Russia also said it struck facilities at the port of Yuzhny in Ukraine's Odesa region. According to the ministry, the attack hit a dry cargo vessel unloading military supplies at the container terminal, as well as a tanker travelling from the port of Chornomorsk to the port of Odesa.
