Russia shells mosque in Ukraine’s Kharkiv during Putin’s visit to Iran
Adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office Mykhailo Podolyak has said that Russia has shown a gesture of disdain by shelling a mosque in Ukraine’s Kharkiv city during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s trip to Iran to ask for supplying weapons.
“Classical Russian Jesuitism. Come to Tehran to bow and beg from the Iran Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei weapons for the second world’s army and at the same time attack mosque in Kharkiv. For barbarians nothing is sacred. But will Iran understand the contempt gesture from Kremlin?” he wrote.
Caliber.Az reports referring to Podolyak’s message on Twitter.
Russian troops shelled Kharkiv on July 20 morning. Three people, including a 13-year-old boy, were killed during the shelling.
A mosque in the Kyivskyi district of the city was also damaged as a result of these attacks.
