Russia strikes critical infrastructure in Ukraine's Zhytomyr PHOTO
Russian forces have struck critical infrastructure facilities in the Korosten District of Ukraine’s Zhytomyr Region, triggering a fire that was swiftly brought under control by emergency services.
According to preliminary information from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, no casualties were reported as a result of the attack.
Sapper units from the agency were deployed to inspect the site for explosive hazards, while chemical specialists conducted air quality monitoring. No exceedances of maximum permissible concentrations of hazardous substances were detected.
Overall, 50 emergency responders and 15 units of specialized equipment from the State Emergency Service were involved in addressing the aftermath of the strike and ensuring the safety of the affected area.
