Russian air strikes hit 22 locations across Ukraine
Ukraine says Russian forces launched a large-scale overnight attack, deploying 36 missiles and nearly 600 drones, targeting critical infrastructure across the country. Most of the incoming threats were intercepted by Ukrainian air defences.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the strikes took place between 18:00 on November 28 and the early hours of November 29, with the main focus on the Kyiv region, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
The assault involved a combination of air-launched and ground-launched missiles, as well as attack drones.
The Ukrainian military reported tracking a total of 632 aerial threats, including:
· 596 attack drones, mainly Shahed models, and other unmanned aerial vehicles approaching from Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardeyskoye (Crimea).
· 5 Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missiles launched from Ryazan, Russia.
· 23 cruise missiles (Kh-101/Iskander-K) from the Rostov region.
· 4 Iskander-M ballistic missiles from Bryansk and Rostov regions.
· 4 guided air-launched missiles (Kh-59/Kh-69) from Kursk.
By 10:30 on 29 November, Ukraine reported that its air defences had successfully intercepted or neutralised 577 of these threats, including:
· 558 drones of Shahed and Gerbera types, and other unmanned aerial vehicles
· 1 Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” missile
· 12 cruise missiles (Kh-101/Iskander-K)
· 4 Iskander-M ballistic missiles
· 2 guided air-launched missiles (Kh-59/Kh-69)
Despite these defences, some strikes were successful. Missile and drone impacts were recorded at 22 locations, while debris from intercepted devices fell across 17 additional sites.
