Russian attacks kill two in Sumy, injure civilians across Donbas, Dnipropetrovsk Photo
Russian forces launched a new wave of attacks across eastern Ukraine over the past 24 hours, killing two women in the Yampil community in Sumy, injuring civilians in multiple towns across Donetsk region, and striking railway infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk region, according to regional authorities.
In Donetsk region, Russian troops shelled front-line settlements 16 times, said regional governor Vadym Filashkin. A total of 331 people, including women and children, were evacuated from areas near the fighting, Caliber.Az reports.
In Pokrovsk district, two houses were damaged in Novotroitske and Toretsk in the Shakhmatsk community. One person was wounded and a house damaged in Svyatogorovka in the Dobropillia community, and another house was damaged in Kopanys.
In Kramatorsk district, a multi-storey residential building and a car were damaged in Nikolaivka, while infrastructure was damaged in Raigorodka. Eight private houses and a car were damaged in Bilenke, Kramatorsk community.
In Slavyansk, one person was injured, and 37 private houses and two cars were damaged. Private houses were also damaged in Prilesne in the Cherkasy community.
In Druzhkivka, one person was injured and an administrative building was damaged.
In Bakhmut district, one house was damaged in Reznikovka in the Seversky community.
In the Yampil community in Sumy, strikes destroyed a two-storey agricultural company building, Ukraine's State Security Service said.
The blast wave damaged windows in five residential buildings. Preliminary information indicates two women were killed and one person was injured. Emergency rescue operations involved canine teams, but rescuers were forced to temporarily suspend work and move to safe locations due to the threat of further attacks.
Separately, a drone strike targeted an electric locomotive at a railway station in Dnipropetrovsk region overnight, according to regional military administration head Oleksiy Kuleba.
The locomotive driver was injured, received medical assistance and is in stable condition. A fire broke out at the site of the strike, and emergency services worked to extinguish it.
