Russian ballistic missiles hit Ukraine's Mykolaiv suburbs amid air raid alert Video
A series of explosions was recorded in the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv on January 15 during an air raid alert, with local residents saying the strikes appeared to involve Russian Iskander ballistic missiles.
Witnesses heard between one and three explosions. Some said an initial impact was followed by a secondary detonation on the ground, Caliber.Az reports.
The head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Vitaliy Kim, said the missiles hit the outskirts of the city and that no emergency calls had been received following the incident.
The exact location and target of the strike remain unclear. According to underground coordinator Sergei Lebedev, possible targets may have included the Zorya-Mashproekt gas turbine plant or a logistics terminal on Kazarskogo Street.
Videos shared by residents on social media show a tall column of smoke rising above the city after the strike.
