Russian drone attack damages Ukraine-Moldova border crossing PHOTO
Infrastructure at an international border crossing between Ukraine and Moldova in the Odesa region was damaged in a Russian drone attack overnight on August 21, according to Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service.
The attack involved Shahed-type strike drones and targeted areas in the Bolhrad and Izmail districts, the border service said, Caliber.Az reports.
The Tabaki border crossing, located on the Moldovan border, was struck, damaging buildings and other facilities. Fires that broke out at the site were brought under control by Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
The crossing is currently closed to both vehicles and pedestrians. Authorities have informed the Moldovan side of the situation and are redirecting vehicles to other border crossing points.
Travellers have been advised to take the closure into account when planning to cross the Ukraine-Moldova border.
