Russian drone attack destroys warehouse of major Ukrainian ice cream producer

04 August 2026 15:26

One of Ukraine's largest ice cream manufacturers, Lasunka, has said its warehouse complex in the Dnipropetrovsk region was completely destroyed in a Russian attack, disrupting supplies of its products across the country.

"Unfortunately, yesterday proved to be a difficult ordeal for our Lasunka family. Our warehouse complex was destroyed as a result of the Russian Federation’s attack. The fire completely destroyed the products we were preparing to send to shops across the country," the company said in a statement, Caliber.Az reports.

The manufacturer warned consumers that "Our ice cream may not be available on the shelves in the near future."

The attack reportedly triggered a fire that destroyed products awaiting distribution to retailers nationwide.

Lasunka is one of Ukraine's largest ice cream producers. Founded in 1997, the company operates production facilities in the city of Dnipro. As of 2025, it employed 685 people. According to Interfax-Ukraine, the company's revenue increased by 8% in 2025, while its net profit declined by 35.2%.

The destruction of the warehouse follows a Russian drone attack on the outskirts of Dnipro. The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, said a "large-scale fire in the suburbs of Dnipro" broke out after Russian unmanned aerial vehicles struck food warehouses.
