Russian drone strike hits passenger train in Ukraine, killing two drivers PHOTO / VIDEO

A Russian jet-powered drone struck the locomotive of a passenger train travelling between Odesa and Dnipro, killing two train drivers, local media reported.

According to Ukrainian news outlet UNIAN, the strike occurred as the train was pulling into a station to allow passengers to disembark and take shelter during an active air raid alert.

Emergency responders successfully evacuated all 340 passengers alongside the remaining train crew to safety. 

Transport authorities subsequently dispatched buses to convey the passengers to their final destination in Odesa.
