Russian forces launch overnight strikes on Ukraine, casualties reported PHOTO

Russian forces launched massive strikes across Ukraine overnight on August 11, killing six people and injuring another 19 in Zaporizhzhia, the head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, said on Telegram.

The overnight barrage also extended to Kyiv, where ballistic missiles were used in the attack. According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, one person was injured.

In Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district, a strike was recorded on the grounds of a children’s hospital. Two craters were formed, while the building’s windows and a gas pipeline were damaged. Children and medical staff were in a shelter during the attack, and none of them was injured. The gas leak was contained by emergency crews.

The strike also caused a fire and the destruction of a warehouse. The blaze, which covered an area of 1,200 square meters, was contained and subsequently extinguished by rescuers. One injured person was handed over to medical personnel.

Meanwhile, deaths and injuries were reported in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region. According to the State Emergency Service, three people were killed, and five others were injured in Russian attacks, including children.

In Synelnykove district, a 47-year-old man was killed, and a seven-year-old girl was injured. In Kryvyi Rih district, a 15-year-old boy was killed, while two other boys, aged 16 and 17, were injured. In Kamianske district, a 63-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman were injured. A death was also reported in Pavlohrad district.

The attacks damaged residential buildings, vehicles, warehouses and administrative buildings, as well as a bank, dormitory and store. Fires broke out at several sites and were promptly extinguished by rescuers.
