Russian FSB cracks down on caliphate-linked network in Crimea video
13 February 2026 12:54
On February 13, 2026, Russian authorities in Crimea detained several people involved in the operations of a terrorist organisation and in spreading its ideology.
According to a statement from the Public Relations Centre (PRC) of the Russian FSB, as reported by Russian media, the suspects held clandestine meetings in which they recruited local residents, primarily Muslims, into their ranks.
These recruits were subjected to systematic training based on the doctrine aimed at establishing a so-called global caliphate.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detained individuals under the charge of “organising the activities of a terrorist organisation and participating in its activities.”
