Russian LNG flows to Spain dip, Enagás data shows

Spain reduced its imports of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) in July compared with the same month a year earlier, data from Spanish energy company Enagás confirmed.

Russian LNG supplies to Spain totaled 2,088 GWh in July 2026, down from 2,150 GWh in July 2025, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

Despite the decline, Russia remained among Spain’s major LNG suppliers, ranking fourth with an 8.1% share of the Spanish market.

Algeria was Spain’s largest LNG supplier during the month, accounting for 41.7% of imports. Nigeria ranked second with 15.4%, followed by the United States at 11.6%.

Overall, Spain imported 39,443 GWh of Russian LNG during the first seven months of 2026, highlighting the continued presence of Russian gas in the country’s energy mix despite efforts across Europe to reduce dependence on Russian energy supplies.
