Russian strike on Odesa port infrastructure kills one, injures three
18 July 2026 13:09
A Russian strike on port infrastructure in Ukraine’s Odesa region killed one person and injured three others, Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper said.
Kiper said a foreign merchant vessel flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda was attacked in the Black Sea. One person was killed, and three others were hospitalised.
He said the strikes also damaged infrastructure, including buildings, storage tanks and warehouses.
Kiper added that Russia carried out a follow-up strike while emergency responders were dealing with the aftermath of the initial attack. Specialised rescue equipment was damaged, but no rescuers were injured because they had taken cover.
