Russian strikes hit across Ukraine overnight, triggering fires, casualties PHOTO
Russian attacks overnight struck multiple civilian locations across Sumy, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions, causing injuries, destruction of homes, and fires, while emergency services rushed to respond.
In central Sumy, Russian forces targeted a hotel, Caliber.Az reports via Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES).
Rescuers evacuated 50 people, but a secondary strike occurred during firefighting efforts. Fortunately, no rescuers were injured.
Overnight, a strike by an armed drone hit the private sector of the Kupiansk district in the Kharkiv region. A residential home was completely destroyed. Rescuers recovered the body of a deceased man under the rubble, and one woman was injured. Emergency operations are ongoing.
In the Odesa region, a new shelling incident left two people injured, including a child. Several structures within a kindergarten were destroyed, and a fire broke out, which firefighters quickly extinguished. A large fire also engulfed containers of food supplies.
A total of 77 rescuers and 17 pieces of SES equipment were deployed to respond to the aftermath of the attacks.
