Russian strikes hit northern, central Ukraine, injuring civilians PHOTO

Russian attacks targeted Ukraine’s Chernihiv and Kirovohrad regions, leaving civilians injured and causing widespread damage to residential buildings, the State Emergency Service said.

In the Chernihiv region, authorities reported fires and destruction across multiple communities following the strikes, Caliber.Az reports. 

“In the Koryukivka district, residential buildings and a car caught fire in two communities. Two people were injured—born in 1974 and 2001. They were hospitalized. In Chernihiv, two cars caught fire, and a two-story building was damaged. In the Chernihiv district, within the Repkivska territorial community and the city of Horodnya, private residential homes and an unused store building were damaged. State Emergency Service units worked at the sites of the incidents, mitigating the consequences of the enemy attacks and providing necessary assistance to the population,” the agency’s statement reads.

In a separate incident, officials said the Kirovohrad region also came under attack, resulting in a residential fire.

“A residential building in the Kropyvnytskyi district was damaged by an enemy UAV attack. The roof of a private home caught fire, with the blaze covering 40 square meters. Rescue workers quickly extinguished the fire. Fortunately, none of the residents were injured,” the agency noted.

Emergency services continue to assess the extent of the damage and assist affected residents across both regions.
