Russian strikes leave Chernihiv completely without power
21 March 2026 12:10
On the morning of March 21, the Ukrainian city of Chernihiv lost all electricity following Russian attacks on the region’s energy infrastructure, according to the city council’s press service.
Authorities reported that all critical and social facilities have been switched to backup power sources to maintain essential services. The strikes targeted a key power facility in the Nizhyn district, leaving approximately 430,000 residents across Nizhyn, Pryluky, and Chernihiv districts without electricity, Caliber.Az reports.
Emergency crews from the local power company have already begun repair operations, though officials warned that restoring full power could take time due to the scale of the damage.
