Russian strikes on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia kill one, injure two
One person was killed and two others injured following Russian military strikes on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region over the past 24 hours, regional officials said on May 23.
According to Ivan Fedorov, the casualties occurred during attacks on the Zaporizhzhia and Polohiv districts, Caliber.Az reports.
Fedorov said Russian forces carried out a total of 819 strikes targeting 45 settlements across the region. The attacks reportedly included 26 airstrikes, 534 drone assaults — primarily involving first-person-view (FPV) unmanned aerial vehicles — and 259 artillery strikes.
Regional authorities also reported damage to civilian infrastructure, including homes, vehicles, and agricultural buildings. A total of 30 damage reports were recorded, according to the regional administration.
