Satellite images show damage after drone strikes on UAE’s Fujairah oil port PHOTO/VIDEO

Satellite images released by the Soar Atlas monitoring portal show the aftermath of a drone attack on the Port of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates on March 14.

The images indicate that at least two fuel storage tanks were engulfed in flames, sending thick black smoke into the air above the port area. A large plume of smoke could be seen rising from the site, with haze continuing to drift over nearby waters and surrounding areas several days after the initial strike, Caliber.Az reports.

Earlier on March 16, reports indicated that a second strike had targeted the port.

The Port of Fujairah is a key energy hub located outside the Strait of Hormuz and plays a significant role in global oil markets. It handles substantial volumes of crude oil and refined petroleum products destined for international export, making it a strategically important facility for regional and global energy supply chains.
