Scholars forecast moderate magnetic storm with minimal impact on health
Magnetic storms may impact Earth on January 3, 2025.
The scholars said that the likelihood of a magnetic storm which will occur on January 3 is 25 per cent, Caliber.Az reports via the forecast issued by the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The chance of a strong storm, with a severity of more than three points, is estimated at 5 per cent. If a magnetic storm does occur, it will be of moderate intensity. The geomagnetic activity level is expected to reach four points, corresponding to a yellow level.
This indicates an excited state of the magnetosphere. A four-point level is considered moderate geomagnetic activity. This level may cause minor disruptions in satellite operations and radio communications, but it poses no threat to human health.
