Serbian president aborts US trip, returns home due to unexpected health problems
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić was forced to abruptly cut his visit to the United States short and return to Serbia due to unexpected health issues.
Vučić suddenly felt unwell during his current trip to the US and sought medical assistance, Caliber.Az reports, citing Serbian media outlets.
After undergoing a medical examination, the Serbian head of state made the decision to end his visit prematurely and return home. His administration is expected to comment on the incident in the coming days.
During his US visit, he managed to meet with former New York mayor and close Donald Trump associate Rudy Giuliani on May 1 in Florida, where Vučić was also scheduled to attend the Republican National Convention.
The president had revealed earlier that he intended to attend the Victory Day military parade in Moscow on May 9, stating at the time that he would do so unless “something happens to me or there is an extraordinary threat to Serbia.”
