At least three adults have been killed in a shooting at a mosque and school in San Diego, California, according to police.
Among the dead was a security guard whom officials credited with helping to prevent further loss of life during the attack at the Islamic Centre of San Diego, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
Two suspects, aged 17 and 18, were also found dead following a large-scale police response to the mosque in the Clairemont neighbourhood.
Authorities said both died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
An imam from the Islamic Centre said all teachers, students and other staff members present at the mosque at the time of the shooting were unharmed.
Clairemont is located around eight miles north of downtown San Diego.
Police have not yet released further details about the victims or a possible motive for the attack.
