Six countries stop postal communication with Russia
The postal offices of six countries have already stopped communication with Russia and Belarus in support of Ukraine that ended cooperation with them in the first days of the war, the press service of Ukrpochta stated, Ukrayinska Pravda informs.
In response to calls from Ukrpochta, the posts of Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Australia have already submitted relevant documents to the Universal Postal Union to stop delivering items to Russia and Belarus.
The postal embargo on Russia and Belarus was also put by the post of Latvia, which in March stopped postal money transfers to and from these countries.
“I hope that the other countries' mail services will also join our six soon, and stop delivering items to Russia and Belarus. This is important, because with the imposition of sanctions and withdrawal of companies from the Russian market, the post office has become a channel for Russia to import the sanctioned goods,” Igor Smilyansky, General Director of Ukrpochta said.
