Six Israeli soldiers wounded in Syria operation

28 November 2025 11:31

In the early hours of November 28, Israeli forces carried out an operation in Beit Jinn, a town in southwestern Syria near Damascus, approximately 11 km east of the Israeli border. The operation led to clashes with local militants and resulted in six Israeli soldiers being wounded.

According to Syria TV, at around 03:40 local time, several IDF vehicles entered Beit Jinn but were reportedly blocked by local residents. This led to clashes and gunfire. To cover the withdrawal of Israeli forces, IDF artillery and helicopters reportedly struck positions in Beit Jinn. Syrian sources claim that at least two local residents were killed and several others were injured.

After several hours of confrontation, Israeli forces withdrew from Beit Jinn and returned to areas near the ceasefire line on the slopes of Mount Hermon.

The IDF confirmed that the operation was carried out by the 55th Reserve Brigade, “Hod Ha-Hanit,” based on intelligence gathered over recent weeks. The mission targeted members of the “Jamaat Islamia” terrorist group in Beit Jinn.

During the operation, militants opened fire on the Israeli soldiers. As a result, three soldiers were seriously wounded, one soldier sustained moderate injuries, and two soldiers suffered minor injuries.

All six soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment, and their families were informed.
