Slovakia expects constructive US approach on oil supplies
Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Juraj Blanár, expects a constructive response from the United States regarding the country’s oil supply situation, remarks he made in connection with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit.
Blanár stated that Slovakia maintains an exemption for importing Russian oil, approved by the US, and emphasised that the Adria pipeline remains the country’s only uninterrupted supply route amid difficulties sourcing oil elsewhere, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Slovakia also receives Russian oil via the Druzhba pipeline, but deliveries were suspended in February due to damage to a section of the pipeline in eastern Ukraine, according to the Slovak media. Authorities in Bratislava expect supplies to resume in the coming days.
