SOCAR Green, Holcim Azerbaijan sign MoU for renewable energy collaboration
SOCAR Green and Holcim Azerbaijan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance renewable energy solutions aimed at reducing the environmental impact of industrial operations in Azerbaijan.
This partnership is focused on decarbonising Holcim’s manufacturing processes through the utilisation of renewable energy and innovative sustainable technologies, showcasing both companies’ commitment to promoting sustainable industrial practices and reducing environmental impact, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The MoU establishes a framework for exploring opportunities in renewable energy use, supporting Holcim’s global commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
To reach these ambitious targets, Holcim is implementing advanced measures, including the adoption of alternative fuels, circular economy practices, and innovative carbon reduction technologies.
Khalid Samaka, Chief Executive Officer of Holcim Azerbaijan, remarked: “Partnering with SOCAR Green will help us explore the use of renewable energy options to meet our decarbonisation goals in Azerbaijan.
