Spain expresses support for Azerbaijan-Armenia peace agreement talks
Spain has welcomed the news of the agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan and expressed hopes that it will lead to the conclusion of a final peace agreement between the two nations.
The statement was made public through the official website of the Spanish Foreign Ministry, Caliber.Az reports.
The Spanish government reaffirmed its commitment to peace and stability in the South Caucasus, underlining the importance of the ongoing dialogue in the region.
This statement follows the March 13 announcement by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, which reaffirmed Baku’s commitment to continuing dialogue with Armenia after successfully concluding negotiations on the draft Agreement on Peace and the Establishment of Interstate Relations.
On the Armenian side, the Armenian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Yerevan had accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals on the two remaining disputed issues. This development signals that the peace agreement is now ready for formal signing.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also confirmed that both nations had reached an agreement on the terms of the draft treaty and reiterated Azerbaijan’s commitment to furthering the peace and stability dialogue in the South Caucasus.
