Spain offers support for peaceful resolution to Venezuela crisis
Spain has said it is prepared to help facilitate a peaceful resolution to the ongoing situation in Venezuela, according to the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry stated that Spain is calling for de-escalation and restraint, urging all parties to act in full respect of international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter. In this context, it said Spain is ready to offer its good offices to support a peaceful and mutually agreed solution to the conflict, Caliber.Az reports.
The Spanish Foreign Ministry added that it is closely monitoring developments in Venezuela in coordination with its partners in the European Union and countries in the region.
It also noted that Spanish authorities remain in constant contact with Spain’s embassy and consulate in Caracas and are closely following the situation of the Spanish community living in Venezuela.
