Spain’s Andalusia battles massive wildfire as over 600 join fight VIDEO

More than 600 firefighters and emergency personnel are battling a major wildfire in Spain’s Andalusia region, with nearly 200 pieces of equipment, including aircraft, deployed to contain the blaze.

According to regional authorities, the fire broke out on August 6 near the town of Niebla and has prompted a large-scale emergency response.

More than 680 people have been evacuated from affected areas as a precaution, while several roads have been closed because of the spreading flames.

The scale of the wildfire has continued to grow, with Spanish newspaper ABC reporting that the blaze has already affected approximately 20,000 hectares of land.

Authorities continue to work to contain the fire and prevent further spread, while emergency teams remain deployed across the affected area.
