Spain urges Iran to engage constructively in US talks, avoid escalation

Spain has called on Iran to participate in upcoming peace negotiations with the United States in Islamabad in good faith and to refrain from further military escalation, Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares said on April 10.

Speaking to reporters after a recent exchange with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, Albares said he had urged Tehran to engage constructively in the talks and to demonstrate genuine commitment to the negotiation process, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.

He added that during the conversation, which took place two days earlier, he also called on Iran to avoid launching missiles and drones against other countries, stressing the importance of de-escalation amid ongoing regional tensions.
