Suspicious object sparks security alert at NATO headquarters in Netherlands
Dutch police are investigating a suspicious object near the NATO Allied Joint Force Command headquarters in Brunssum, with bomb disposal specialists deployed to the scene.
"At around 09:25 (11:25 Baku time), police received a report of a suspicious situation on Rimburgerweg (outside the grounds of Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum). Explosive ordnance specialists were immediately deployed. Following an initial assessment, the bomb disposal unit is carrying out further operations," the Limburg provincial police said in a post on X.
The police have not stated that an explosive device has been found.
According to local media, the bomb disposal team arrived at the site about three hours after police received the initial report. Authorities also said they had not received any bomb threats.
