Sweden ready to shield economy from effects of Iran war – PM

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has affirmed that the government is prepared to protect Sweden’s economy from the consequences of the war involving Iran.

During a news conference, he noted that the Swedish economy is likely to feel a significant impact due to the conflict in the Middle East, but authorities are ready to strengthen support measures if needed.

“We have both the readiness and the capacity to do more. Our economy is in a condition that allows us to act if necessary,” Kristersson said.

He added that Sweden has “room for manoeuvre and resources” to implement additional steps aimed at mitigating potential economic effects.
