Syria condemns Iranian strike on Bahrain as sovereignty violation
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Syria has condemned Iran’s recent attack on buildings in the Kingdom of Bahrain, describing it as a “blatant violation” of the country’s sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability.
According to a statement cited by the Syrian Arab News Agency, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said the targeted buildings were housing personnel from the Qatar Emiri Naval Forces. The sailors were participating in operations at a Joint Naval Operations Centre operating under the authority of the Gulf Cooperation Council Joint Military Command.
The ministry said the attack constitutes a direct violation of Bahrain’s sovereignty and poses a threat to security across the region.
In its statement, Syria also expressed full solidarity with the peoples of Bahrain and Qatar, voicing support for them against any aggressive acts that undermine sovereignty or endanger national security.
The Syrian government further emphasised its rejection of any actions that could destabilise the region and called for respect for the sovereignty of states as a foundation for maintaining peace and regional stability.
