Syria, France sign agreements to expand strategic partnership PHOTO
Syria and France have signed a series of agreements and memorandums of understanding following talks between their foreign ministers in Damascus, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said.
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani held discussions with his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot, during which the two sides reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and explored prospects for expanding cooperation across multiple sectors. They also addressed a range of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Following the talks, a signing ceremony for several agreements and memorandums of understanding was held in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron and Syrian President Ahmed al-Shaara.
According to the Syrian Foreign Ministry, the signed documents are aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between Syria and France, as well as enhancing cooperation in political, economic and other fields.
