Syria intercepts major Captagon shipment at Lebanese border PHOTO
Syrian authorities have seized a significant shipment of drugs at the Lebanon-Syria border in Homs province, the Ministry of Interior announced.
The operation targeted a vehicle spotted attempting to smuggle drugs into Syrian territory. Officials acted after the vehicle drew the attention of security forces stationed in the border area.
During the raid, authorities confiscated approximately 450,000 Captagon tablets—equivalent to around 79 kilograms of illegal substances. The seized drugs have been handed over to the relevant legal authorities for further investigation and processing.
The Ministry of Interior emphasized that the operation reflects ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and secure Syria’s borders against illicit smuggling.
