Media: Syrian Army expands control over central Latakia, Tartus VIDEO

Syrian Armed Forces have successfully seized control of central areas in the provinces of Latakia and Tartus.

The military is now preparing to advance further into the rural regions and has strengthened its hold over the centre of Latakia province, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.

Syrian troops are continuing operations in both provinces, actively searching for remaining armed supporters of ex-President Bashar al-Assad. Syrian security forces have also deployed additional reinforcements to the coastal city of Jableh, where ongoing clashes are taking place along the Syrian coastline.

The attacks and ambushes carried out by the remnants of Assad's regime have been highly coordinated and strategic. The current operation targeting these remaining forces is the largest of its kind in Syria in recent years. A Syrian army convoy was ambushed on the Aleppo-Latakia road by Assad's loyalists. Intense clashes broke out following the attack, resulting in heavy exchanges between both sides.

The exclusive footage from Jableh, showing Syrian forces taking control of the city and expelling Assad regime militants, was obtained.

In the midst of this ongoing conflict between Syrian government forces and remnants of Assad's regime, video footage has surfaced showing the Turkish military sending reinforcements to bolster their forces stationed near Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) positions in the rural areas of Raqqa. The SDF, supported by the US, is affiliated with the Kurdish militant group PKK/YPG.
