Syrian Army launches strikes on SDF drone sites in eastern Aleppo

The Syrian Arab Army announced on January 5 that it had launched strikes on drone launch positions operated by the SDF in the vicinity of the town of Deir Hafir in eastern Aleppo, following a series of drone attacks in the area.

According to the state news agency SANA, the strikes resulted in injuries to more than six civilians as well as members of the military police. The army emphasised that its retaliatory measures would remain limited in scope.

Earlier on the same day, three soldiers were wounded when a drone targeted a military police checkpoint in the same area.
