Media: Syrian army successfully repels PKK/YPG terrorist attack in Aleppo PHOTO
In a swift and decisive response, the Syrian Army has successfully thwarted a terrorist attack by the PKK/YPG group in central Aleppo.
The terrorists, who continue to operate in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh districts of Aleppo province, seized the opportunity presented by recent events in Tartus and Latakia to launch an assault on Syrian military positions in the heart of Aleppo, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The Syrian military acted promptly to neutralise the threat, managing to prevent the attack and restore order. Colonel Hassan Abdul Ghani, a representative from Syria’s Defence Ministry , confirmed that security forces in the city had successfully repelled the PKK/YPG-led assault in the Ashrafieh area, preventing further escalation.
The confrontation reportedly resulted in significant losses for the terrorists. In addition to the attack in Aleppo, security sources in Damascus reported an attack by militants linked to the ousted regime. This assault targeted the Mezzeh 86 and Mezzeh Jabal neighbourhoods, where grenade explosions sparked clashes between the terrorists and Syrian security forces. During the skirmish, light weapons were used, and the situation was quickly contained.
