Syrian authorities arrest suspects in UAE embassy attack in Damascus PHOTO
Security units of Syria’s Ministry of Interior have arrested two individuals involved in an attack on the United Arab Emirates embassy in Damascus.
In an April 5 statement, the ministry said it immediately took the necessary legal measures against the suspects in accordance with established procedures, Caliber.Az reports via Syrian media.
The ministry emphasised that any attack on diplomatic missions constitutes a “red line” that must not be crossed, affirming its vigilance and determination to protect these missions and uphold diplomatic norms.
Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reaffirmed its firm stance, categorically rejecting any attacks or attempts to approach embassies and accredited diplomatic representations in Syria, highlighting that such institutions are protected under international law and diplomatic agreements and serve as symbols of relations between states and peoples.
