Teen held on $10 million bond over alleged plot against Texas synagogue
An 18-year-old woman is being held on a $10 million bond after being accused of conspiring to carry out an attack on a synagogue in Texas, according to court records cited by prosecutors.
The suspect, identified as Angelina Han Hicks of Lexington, North Carolina, has been charged with felony conspiracy to commit murder and felony conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon, according to court documents, ABC News reports.
Prosecutors allege she planned the attack with two men on Congregation Beth Israel in Houston, Texas.
“The conspiracy is to kill as many jews as possible by driving through a congregation at the synagogue,” North Carolina prosecutors alleged in the court documents.
Authorities said Hicks was arrested in North Carolina on April 22 and appeared in Davidson County District Court in Lexington later the same day.
Court records state that two alleged co-conspirators, identified only as “Angel” and “Teegan,” are accused of participating in the plot, which reportedly referenced a planned attack in 2028. The two individuals have not been arrested and remain unidentified.
A Davidson County judge set Hicks’ bond at $10 million, citing the seriousness of the allegations and the fact that the other suspects remain at large.
The investigation is ongoing.
