TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan hi-tech festival kicks off in Baku LIVE BROADCAST

TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan Aerospace and Technology Festival kicked off in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku on May 26.

Rashad Nabiyev, Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, as well as Selcuk Bayraktar, CTO of the Turkish Baykar Makina COmpany, and Mustafa Varankar, the Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology, will deliver opening speeches at the event.

As part of the four-day festival, which will wrap up on May 29, various shows will be demonstrated throughout the first day, including air, robot and wind tunnel shows.

The concert program, which will be organized at the end of the opening day, will feature popular Azerbaijani singers, including People's Artist Aygun Kazimova, as well as Nigar Jamal, Azad Shabanov.

At the end of the day, a grandiose laser performance will kick the emotions even higher.

Over 200,000 people are expected to take part in the festival over four days, including about 500 visitors from 33 countries.

As many as 287 startups from 32 countries, including 101 local projects, have so far applied to participate in the festival. Around 50 startups have booked a ticket to the final, 15 of which are from the US, Argentina, Estonia, Jordan, Egypt, Pakistan, Turkiye) in addition to 35 Azerbaijani startups.

The event is attended by startups with the potential to make it through to the world markets, local and foreign mentors, foreign investors and venture funds.

TEKNOFEST has been held annually since 2018 with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Turkish Technology Team Foundation, led by Selcuk Bayraktar.

Since its launch, the festival has been organized in Turkiye. This year, for the first time, the festival went beyond the country’s borders to Azerbaijan. The organiser is Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
