The Sun: Princess Catherine spotted in public for first time in three months
British tabloid The Sun published the first video since the end of December, which captures the wife of Prince William of Wales, Princess Catherine. The video shows her and her husband smiling as they leave a farm shop near Windsor Castle.
The princess has not been seen in public for almost three months. In January, she underwent abdominal surgery, after which she was recommended a long recovery period.
In recent weeks, the lack of news about the princess has sparked a slew of rumours in the UK. They intensified after the Prince of Wales in late February "for personal reasons" cancelled at the last minute to attend a memorial service in memory of King Constantine II of Greece, who was his godfather. Kensington Palace's prolonged silence was particularly notable against the backdrop of the announcement by Charles III's office that the king was ill with cancer, the type of which was never named.
Since the beginning of February, when the King's diagnosis was officially announced, several statements about His Majesty's condition have been circulated, and photos and videos have been published. Catherine, after her discharge from the hospital, was only once captured by photographers through a car window. The first official photo of the princess in almost three months provoked a new wave of rumours, as it turned out to be retouched, which forced major news agencies to withdraw it. The heir to the throne's wife even had to apologise for the misunderstanding, which she attributed to the fact that she was digitally processing a family photo taken by her husband.
