“This is how dictatorships fall”: Israeli defence minister on Tehran strikes
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has described the latest strikes on Tehran as a decisive blow to the Iranian regime, claiming that key symbols of power are being bombed and collapsing, while large numbers of residents flee the capital.
“A tornado sweeps through Tehran. Symbols of power are bombed and collapsing – from the broadcasting authority to further targets expected soon – as masses of residents flee. This is how dictatorships fall,” Caliber.Az quotes Katz as saying on X.
His remarks follow a series of intensified Israeli operations inside Iranian territory, which officials have framed as part of a broader effort to undermine Tehran’s military and political infrastructure.
Notably, on June 16, Katz issued a harsh warning to Tehran’s residents following Iran’s latest attacks on Israeli territory.
“The blustering dictator of Tehran has become a cowardly killer, deliberately firing towards Israel’s civilian rear to deter the IDF from continuing its offensive that is crippling its capabilities," he said on X.
“The people of Tehran will pay the price, and soon,” he warned.
On 14 June, Katz had already cautioned Iran’s Supreme Leader: “Tehran will burn” if attacks persist.
