Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop and transmit renewable energy along the Caspian Sea, said Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev on his X page.
The agreement is seen as one of the key deliverables of COP 29, setting the stage for a transformative green energy corridor in the region, Caliber.Az reports.
“Yet one of the important deliverables of COP 29 at the regional and trans regional level. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan signed MOU on development and transmission of renewable energy along the Caspian Sea. The project will also be linked with the Black Sea energy cable. New green energy corridor in the making” Hajiyev wrote.
The agreement is set to open new avenues for energy collaboration and technological exchange between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. With the Caspian region’s potential for solar, wind, and other renewable sources, this MOU signals the start of a new era in regional energy cooperation and positions these countries as integral parts of the global green energy movement.
