Northern Cyprus leader thanks Azerbaijani president for ECO summit invitation
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Ersin Tatar has expressed deep gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for inviting him to attend the 17th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Tatar, who met with United Nations representatives in Nicosia ahead of his visit, said he would travel to Azerbaijan on the evening of July 1, with a series of official meetings scheduled for July 2, Caliber.Az reports.
He emphasised that attending the summit in Khankandi as an observer state holds great significance for the TRNC.
He noted that international cooperation is vital to the future development of Northern Cyprus, particularly in light of ongoing embargoes and restrictions.
“I will share these thoughts with the participants of the Economic Cooperation Organization summit in Khankandi,” Tatar said.
