Azerbaijan honors 25th graduating class of command-staff course PHOTO
The National Defence University of Azerbaijan has hosted the graduation ceremony marking the 25th cohort of the Command-Staff Academic Course, a pivotal milestone in the development of the nation’s military leadership.
The event commenced with a solemn tribute—a minute of silence—in honor of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the courageous martyrs who gave their lives defending Azerbaijan’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Following this, the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was performed, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry.
Major General Gunduz Abdulov, Rector of the National Defence University, delivered a keynote address, conveying the heartfelt congratulations of Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Minister of Defence, alongside other senior military officials. In his speech, Major General Abdulov commended the graduates on their achievements and wished them continued success in their military careers. He also expressed profound appreciation for the dedicated professors and instructors of the course.
Highlighting the strategic vision of the Commander-in-Chief, the Rector emphasized that the preparation of highly professional officers aligned with modern military standards remains a top priority. He further noted that ongoing reforms within the military education system are instrumental in bolstering the Azerbaijan Army’s combat readiness and intellectual strength.
A special highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of Lieutenant Colonel Vusal Abdurrahmanov, who graduated with distinction. He was honored with a diploma, an honorary certificate, and a commemorative gift.
In his remarks, Lieutenant Colonel Abdurrahmanov extended his gratitude to the leadership of the National Defence University and the Military Management Institute, as well as to the faculty members, for providing an enabling environment that fostered both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Representing his fellow graduates, he also participated in a symbolic act by attaching the course emblem to a ceremonial stump, signifying their collective commitment.
The ceremony concluded with the formal awarding of diplomas to all graduates, followed by a commemorative group photograph capturing this landmark achievement.
