Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan sign plan to boost interparliamentary ties
Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan signed a Plan of Practical Activities for the Development of Interparliamentary Cooperation between the two countries for the years 2025–2026.
The document was signed by Uzbekistan’s Parliament’s Chairwoman Tanzila Narbayeva and Azerbaijani Parliament's Chairwoman Sahiba Gafarova during a meeting on July 1, Caliber.Az reports per Uzbekistan's senate.
Accoprding to the information, the document represents a strategic roadmap designed to deepen parliamentary interaction and promote closer institutional ties between the two countries. It outlines clear objectives and practical directions aimed at enhancing collaboration within the legislative frameworks of both nations.
Officials highlighted that the plan's implementation will lay a strong foundation for integration efforts in the interparliamentary arena, fostering a sustainable mechanism for ongoing bilateral dialogue.
In addition to the cooperation plan, the meeting saw the signing of the Regulations of the Interparliamentary Commission. This framework is expected to facilitate systematic, coordinated work between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. It will ensure regularity, consistency, and institutional stability in their partnership, further strengthening the political and legal bases of their collaboration.
The agreements underscore the commitment of both countries to intensify their legislative cooperation and build lasting political ties.
