Trump announces progress on Ukraine agreement following talks with Putin, Zelenskyy
US President Donald Trump has revealed that the outlines of a future agreement concerning Ukraine are beginning to take shape following his discussions with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump shared details about the conversations he had with the two leaders, Caliber.Az reports per Ukrainian media.
Trump stated that he had very good talks with both President Zelenskyy and President Putin, describing the conversations as great. He believed that they already had the outlines of a deal and expressed hope that they did. Trump also reiterated his belief that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine would not have occurred if he had been president in 2022.
He claimed that the lack of a competent president in the US during that period contributed to the escalation of the conflict. Moreover, Trump added that he believed a complete ceasefire in Ukraine would be achieved very soon, after which an agreement would be reached. He mentioned that negotiations were currently underway for an agreement, which included territorial divisions.
