Trump announces release of five prisoners from Russian, Belarusian jails
US President Donald Trump announced that Washington had secured the release of five individuals from detention in Russia and Belarus, according to a post published on Truth Social.
“We just secured the release of three Polish, and two Moldovan, prisoners from Belarusian and Russian detention. Thanks to my Special Presidential Envoy, John Coale, we were able to push hard to make this release happen,” Trump wrote.
He added that Polish President Karol Nawrocki had personally asked him last September to help secure the release of Andrzej Poczobut from a Belarusian prison.
“Today, Poczobut is free due to our efforts. The United States delivers for our Allies, and Friends. Thank you to President Aleksandr Lukashenko for his cooperation and friendship.So nice!” Trump stated.
